Description

The Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance Summit on Race and Inclusion examines the effects of racial disparities and strategies for their elimination at a day-long conference involving hundreds of participants from across the state of Michigan.

The 2019 Summit on Race and Inclusion will bring nationally-recognized speakers to West Michigan to address sector-specific topics of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Our morning keynote speakers will be Rudy Valdez, filmmaker and director of the HBO documentary, The Sentence. Our afternoon keynote speaker will be John Pavlovitz, a writer, pastor, and author of the Stuff That Needs To Be Said blog.

The day-long conference will also provide opportunity to attend two sector-specific breakout sessions, featuring a variety of experts in these fields: Business, Community, Education, Faith, Health, Law & Policy, and Youth Advocacy*.

Special thanks to our event partner, Hope College, and to our major sponsors, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Meijer, Haworth, Spectrum, WGVU and the Brooks Family Fund, for helping to make Summit 2019 possible!
